Sample resume: before and after
This is a fictional example. "Dana Rivera" isn't a real person, and every name, employer, number and date on this page is made up to illustrate our work. It isn't a customer's resume.
Dana is a made-up 58-year-old who managed a hardware store for many years and now wants an office or operations coordinator job. Here is the kind of resume people often send us, and the kind we send back.

What changed, and why
- The objective became a summary that names the job Dana wants and the strengths that carry over.
- Duties became results. "Responsible for store" became a budget size, team size and an inventory result. In real work, we only use numbers the customer gives us or confirms.
- The last 15+ years are in full; older work is one line. Nothing is hidden, and it's still listed.
- Graduation year removed, and recent training added with its year, to show current learning.
- Outdated details are gone: the second phone, street address, Lotus 1-2-3, fax machines and "References available".
- Simple one-column layout that applicant tracking software can read.
Every fact in the "after" version comes from the "before" version or from answers to our questions. In real orders, we don't add anything you haven't told us.

An honest note: we use AI to help
We use AI writing tools to help draft and format your resume. A real person reads, checks and edits every page before it reaches you.
- We never make anything up: no invented jobs, dates, degrees, licenses or skills. If something is unclear, we ask you.
- We take out your phone number, email and street address before using any AI tool and put them back at the end.
- You can ask us to delete your files at any time. We delete them anyway 60 days after the work is finished.
What we won't do
- We will never ask for passwords, PINs, bank or card numbers, or your Social Security number. Please don't send them. Anyone who asks you for these is not us.
- We don't log into job websites or accounts for you.
- We don't give legal, medical, or financial advice, and we don't make those decisions for you.
- We can't promise you'll get a job or an interview. Nobody honestly can.
