Building and facilities maintenance resume
Apartment complexes, schools, hospitals and plants all need people who can fix many different things. Your resume should show that breadth, and that you're dependable.
1. Show your trades mix
Plumbing, electrical (to your license level), HVAC basics, carpentry, painting, appliances, pools, and grounds. List what you do on your own and be clear about licensed work.
2. Mention work orders and systems
Many employers track work in a maintenance system. Name the one you've used, and give rough volumes, such as "about 25 work orders a week".
3. Highlight preventive maintenance
Filter changes, inspections, unit turnovers, and seasonal shutdowns show you prevent problems as well as fix them.
4. Include safety and certifications
OSHA 10/30, EPA 608, CPO (pool operator), and boiler licenses. List the ones you actually hold, with dates.
5. Note on-call reliability
If you've taken an on-call rotation, say so. It's a real plus for property managers.

An honest note: we use AI to help
We use AI writing tools to help draft and format your resume. A real person reads, checks and edits every page before it reaches you.
- We never make anything up: no invented jobs, dates, degrees, licenses or skills. If something is unclear, we ask you.
- We take out your phone number, email and street address before using any AI tool and put them back at the end.
- You can ask us to delete your information at any time. See our privacy note.
What we won't do
- We will never ask for passwords, PINs, bank or card numbers, or your Social Security number. Please don't send them. Anyone who asks you for these is not us.
- We don't log into job websites or accounts for you.
- We don't give legal, medical, or financial advice, and we don't make those decisions for you.
- We can't promise you'll get a job or an interview. Nobody honestly can.
