Nursing assistant (CNA) resume
Nursing assistants are hired for skill, reliability and kindness. A good CNA resume shows all three and describes your duties accurately, within your actual scope.
1. List your certification and registry status
Give the state certification, your listing on the state nurse aide registry (if active), and the expiry date. Add CPR/BLS with its date. Leave off certificate numbers.
2. Name the care settings
Long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, hospital units, rehab, home health, or hospice. Mention the unit type and size if you know them.
3. Describe tasks accurately
Use the duties you actually performed under supervision, such as help with bathing, dressing, eating and mobility, taking and recording vital signs, repositioning, and reporting changes to the nurse. Don't describe tasks that are outside a CNA's role in your state.
4. Show documentation and systems
Charting in an electronic health record (name the system if you can) and shift handoffs are important skills.
5. Show teamwork and reliability
Resident or patient load per shift, picking up shifts, training new aides, and attendance recognition are all worth listing if true.
6. Protect privacy
Never include patient names or identifying details, even in examples.

- We take out your phone number, email and street address before using any AI tool and put them back at the end.
- You can ask us to delete your information at any time. See our privacy note.
What we won't do
- We will never ask for passwords, PINs, bank or card numbers, or your Social Security number. Please don't send them. Anyone who asks you for these is not us.
- We don't log into job websites or accounts for you.
- We don't give legal, medical, or financial advice, and we don't make those decisions for you.
- We can't promise you'll get a job or an interview. Nobody honestly can.
