Office manager resume
Office managers are the people who make everything else work. The challenge is showing that on paper, because so much of the job is invisible when it's done well.
1. State the scope up front
Size of the office, number of staff, budget you manage, and number of vendors. "Office manager for a 25-person law firm" sets the scale immediately.
2. Group your work into areas
Operations and facilities, finance and billing, HR support and onboarding, IT and equipment coordination, and scheduling. A bullet or two under each covers the breadth.
3. Name your systems
Accounting software, payroll systems, practice-management or CRM tools, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration, and phone systems.
4. Show a process you improved
Every good office manager has fixed something: a supply ordering system, an onboarding checklist, a vendor contract that saved money. Say what you changed and what happened.
5. Show trust
Handling confidential files, payroll, or the owner's calendar shows you're trusted. Describe it without revealing anything confidential.
